How To Make A Mask

Masking allows you to show only certain portions of images, videos, or objects.

To create a mask, first, add a shape to the canvas. Click on the Shape menu and choose a shape.

Get a video or a photo from any of the stock image and footage libraries

or import your own.

Drag and drop the image or video to the canvas.

Select both the shape and the image on the timeline (you can also select both items on the canvas) Select "Mask (Image) with shape"

That's it! You have now a masked image.

To apply motion to a masked shape

Select the masked shape on the canvas > go to Motion > Select the animation

To apply motion to the shape only

Select the masked shape on the canvas > Turn Detach Mask ON >  Go to Motion >Select the animation
